walk with me down the trail
walk with me down the trail
For two years, we lived in a tent trailer while traveling the American West. To document the kind of adventure I’d never have again, I wrote our stories.
We’ve left the RV life for now, but these weekly vignettes still explore adventure’s ups and downs, our relationship with the outdoors, the wonderful disaster of parenting, and the struggle to catch lightening in the creative bottle.
Already Ridden It
Maybe that's the most beautiful thing about having "already ridden it". That it frees you up to see the unexpected things that happen rather than gripping the handlebars so tight and memorizing the tread on your front tire.
Hoppers of the Grass
Perhaps they’re reluctant to take the stage. Instead, they’re using the percussion of their exoskeletons to give the monologue from behind the curtain.
The Brace Cabinet
I think I’ll get a china cabinet but instead of grandma’s crystal, I’ll display all the protective devices. I won’t need to worry about dusting them because I’m certain they’ll be used enough not to gather any.
